This is for Nobie and all of us

by Bob Hotzfield

A Eulogy

Oh whose gonna rock you now.

Whose gonna give you hope and joy.

Nobie has slipped into the night.

So I guess your Jesus will have to now.

Who are the grand and great grand kids going to visit.

What opinions will you hear now.

How will your holidays be now that Nobie has gone.

She slipped away into the night

And your Jesus has got her

And she's better now.

I know I'll see her now and then

All I have to do is touch someone I love

Like you

Or myself even.

Or her memory.

Way back

Way too early

Our dad was cut out of the sky.

And out of our life.

Nobie had no one to rock her.

Her Jesus got pushed aside by something else.

But while she wrestled with this demon that some of us know.

Nobie found the strength to rock us

Nobie taught us pride, humor, strength, and respect.

She grappled twisted bumped and bruised with her demon.

But she taught us strength, pride, humor, respect,

and to stand on our own two feet,

And she did it with a mothers resolve

Mostly standing up herself.

So whose gonna rock you and give you memories and joy

Now that Nobies gone in the night to

Be with her husband and friend Bill.

And her daughter Mary Jane.

And her dad and mom.

Whose gonna rock you with a joke and some advice.

I guess your Jesus will have to-

Or someone that’s here now-

That you love.

But never forget when you see a shimmering wave,

Or a shinny star way out in the deep night, or a slippery crappie,

a soft kitty or a fat chocolate turtle-

That Nobie is with you right then.

And she's o.k.

And she rocked you

And you'll be o.k.
